Even though the air service has considerably improved and diversified itself over the last few years, the cost of a flight can vary a lot from one season to another and depending on your departure city as well. If you have no problem with stopovers, that you are ready to spend numerous hours on flight with sometimes little comfort, you can easily get to Tahiti for about USD $880.00. However, during high season, the ticket is close to USD $2,750. A cost-effective solution consists in booking your flights early. If you are not affected by seasickness, you can try to embark aboard a cargo. However, pay attention, only a few welcome passengers (up to 12) and priority is given to residents. The Hawaikinui, for instance, stops by the islands of Huahine, Raiatea, Taha’a and Bora Bora and represents a cheap alternative, as i twill only cost you about 2 000xpf ($18.5).
