Embracing the southern Summer with Sarah

Embracing the southern Summer with Sarah

She’s the newest member of the Products & Marketing team, and she has no intention of staying on the sidelines. Freshly returned from the mainland, Sarah is stepping onto the wide playground of Moana Voyages. With ideas buzzing in her head and a coffee tumbler in hand, she’s ready to revamp our community management. Introverted yet creative, she’s also a freelance graphic designer in her spare time, with a knack for capturing moments, conveying emotions, and bringing atmospheres to life. And though she’s still catching up on her film references, we’re happy to welcome her into our film club, where her slightly offbeat recommendations are always welcome…

Her favorite package

Underwater

With her head in the clouds and her feet in the water, this is kind of Sarah’s motto. The Tuamotu offer the best of both worlds, after all… Here, the ocean evokes a vertigo-inducing wonder, a life teeming quietly beneath the surface. That’s exactly the feeling you get when diving into the passes of Rangiroa or Fakarava: a pure, almost magnetic sense of freedom. It’s an experience that goes beyond mere observation; it’s a sensory connection with the wild, where adrenaline meets serenity.

Her favorite accommodation

You might think she’s not hard to please, having chosen The Brando, of all places… But don’t be fooled—her motivations lie elsewhere. If this hotel tops her list, it’s primarily for its eco-conscious approach. Deeply concerned with protecting the environment and preserving the atoll, the hotel works closely with the Tetiaora Society and dedicates itself daily to biodiversity conservation—especially on Bird Island.

The activity she recommends

Reef

Reef exploration might not be the most popular excursion, but it’s certainly one of the most enlightening… The good news is that over the past fifteen years or so, awareness about Polynesia’s marine ecosystem has really taken off! Many people assume that corals are just little rocks that scratch your feet when you get too close to a 'bommie,' but sometimes you need to take a closer look at the postcard-perfect scenery…

Her Travel Tip

In Polynesia, the pace of life is different. Here, people wake up early, eat early, and go to bed… early. Don’t try to keep an American-style schedule. Head to the market around 6 a.m., have dinner before 7 p.m., and forget about Saturday shopping sprees in Papeete after 1 p.m.

To read before your flight : The Tifaifai

With its colorful fabrics and unmistakably Polynesian flair, the tīfaifai is not the kind of thing that just blends into the background. Yet it undeniably has ornamental charm… Much like mending a pair of jeans, the māmā patch together past and present in a vibrant cultural quilt.
As a child, Sarah would watch her grandmother craft her patterns from the corner of her eye. When she went to study in France, she carried that memory of Tubuai with her—a creation made with a little time and a lot of love.
