Coco Beach, the accessible paradise 

The Coco Beach, a suggestive name for a restaurant nestled like a pearl on a heavenly islet in the lagoon of Moorea. The Coco Beach has become over the years an institution for those who enjoy a marinated raw fish or maa tahiti (traditional dish) in an idyllic setting, feet in the turquoise water of Motu Tiahura. A change of scenery guaranteed, not so far from Papeete, to taste the peaceful happiness of our islands. A paradise accessible by canoe, kayak, or paddleboard…

The Coco Beach has changed quite a bit during the last few months. A new logo illustrates Nahema and Eric’s desire to provide quality service to a more demanding clientele and to make of their moment of relaxation an exceptional getaway. The Coco Beach offers new services including the possibility to privatize the restaurant for work committees or for the organization of professional meals, birthdays, parties or weddings and give these events a very special flavor. The Coco Beach recently hosted the evening “From One Kitchen to the Other”, with more than 100 people attending…

The Robinsons of the islet 

To fully enjoy the islet, it is better to get there early. A motorized canoe runs every half an hour from various places in Moorea and drops you off on the white sand beach right next to the restaurant. The sandbar awaits you for a moment of relaxation or fun, according to what you are looking for. The motu is not lacking in shades, it is quite pleasant when it’s sunny and if instead the weather is a little hectic, you can always find a sheltered place to enjoy. The stingrays’ place is located only a hundred meters away, so it is normal to see them stroll along the shore, unimpressed by your presence.

Coco Beach is first and foremost a restaurant. And Nahema and Eric do not do things half-heartedly: a menu that gives you the choice, filled plate and above all, quality. Whether it is the tuna steak, the tartar or the shrimps cooked with whiskey, everything is delicious. Add to that a cocktail of fresh fruit, that day (for us it was watermelon) and your meal is complete! The Coco Beach also has a bar that has nothing to envy to the resorts.


What we loved

The islet is a true paradise with an authentic postcard landscape. The white sand beach, the sandbank, the stingrays that tickle your feet … everything is there. The calm that reigns is relaxing and allows you to fully enjoy a day of relaxation. The islet is large enough and never feels crowded, as is the case on some beaches. A break in paradise, a restaurant of irreproachable quality… that’s why a day at Coco Beach is so enjoyable.
