Julie
Product Coordinator
In a few words
I grew up near Toulouse, my head full of dreams of discovery, with a curiosity and a thirst for learning that have never left me. My path wasn’t the typical one through tourism schools: I first chose the path of science by attending a preparatory class, before earning my master’s degree and my CAPES in mathematics. But after a few years of teaching, the call of the open sea became too strong to resist.
I packed my life into a backpack to fulfill my dream of traveling around the world. This journey led me, stop by stop, all the way to French Polynesia. Stepping foot in this paradise on my 26th birthday was love at first sight. I fell deeply in love with this unique palette of greens and blues, the richness of its culture, its way of life, and its people (and my sweetheart). Today, I’ve set sail here. While my path may have taken me off the beaten path, my role as a product coordinator at Moana Voyages is a natural fit. A scientist, a dreamer, meticulous, and creative: all these facets of my personality come together to shape our offerings. I’m proud to have joined this adventure and to be working behind the scenes to design the experiences that will turn your trip into a waking dream.
Your ideal stay in French Polynesia?
If I had to plan my ideal vacation, it would be a simple trip - a sensory adventure that leaves a lasting impression.
It would all start with a few days in Tahiti - ideally in July - to experience the excitement of the Heiva. I love taking the time to stroll through the market in Papeete, chat with the locals, and breathe in the sweet scent of the flowers. It’s also a chance to get away from it all, from hikes through the island’s wild valleys to the untamed landscapes of the Peninsula.
Next, I’d head to Moorea to savor the tranquility of the lagoon. Between swims among the colorful fish, the perfect way to spend a day is to treat yourself to a timeless experience on a motu and hike the Trois Pinus trail to admire the breathtaking panoramic view of the bays. I’d continue on to Huahine and its authentic charm: a true moment of tranquility where you can let yourself be enchanted by the magic of legends and the warm welcome of the Polynesians.
Finally, to bring this journey to a spectacular close, I’d fly to the Marquesas. In Nuku Hiva, far from the coral reefs, I’d gaze upon the majestic peaks of Hatiheu Bay before heading to Ua Pou. There, I’d take the time to marvel at the giant basalt silhouettes soaring toward the sky, immerse myself in a timeless culture, and admire the wild horses galloping freely along the beach.
Your favorite place in French Polynesia?
At the Three Waterfalls of Faarumai, because it’s a place where I feel very small in the face of nature’s immensity and raw power. It’s a rejuvenating place that radiates a profound and poetic energy. Sitting there in the cool mist, surrounded by this untamed wilderness, reminds me every time why I chose to make Polynesia my home.
Your favorite restaurant?
To be completely honest, I’m not a big fan of food, and I very rarely go to restaurants. But if there’s one traditional spot I really love, it’s the row of food trucks at Taaone in Pirae. My ritual is to go to the one on the far left. It’s no-frills Polynesian street food in a local, friendly atmosphere - perfect for grabbing a hearty bite after a long day.
